Earth says to rain, “Hey rain, we are truly grateful. Because you come to us, I live, and everything – grass and trees – live together! How come you don’t think of yourself? We haven’t done anything for you but still, you just come to us whenever we need you. You help and save us.”
“I was born to be this way. Because I was born without the mind of the self, I can be used in places I am needed, without expecting anything for me. Because there isn’t myself, I cannot do something for myself. I was just born in the world to give everything of me. So I am so free and happy. And, we are one without you and me. You don’t directly help me but you also hold the world and help grass and trees to grow, don’t you? We, the nature, are truly beautiful as we just exist for one another without the self, all the time,” said the rain.
“Yes, as you said, I also don’t have the mind of the self so I don’t even want to receive anything. I can only give for the life in the world. The Sun in the sky always burns itself to illuminate the whole world warmly and also helps grass and trees to grow, doesn’t it? The nature of the world doesn’t have the self, so it seems to just exist as one for one another. It is truly beautiful because it always gives without any expectation,” said the earth.
“Yes, I am so happy to live in the world. Not having the mind of the self is too good and joyful. I feel so good because I just give everything without expectation. I don’t even have the mind that I have given everything. I am truly happy,” said the rain.

Earth 3
The earth is everlasting.
But as earth, it is not everlasting.
It is everlasting when man returns to the source.
The earth does its duty without a word.
The earth has neither complaints nor laughter.
The earth has no sense of superiority or inferiority.
Even when it performs a selfless service,
it has no thought of having done so.
The earth has deliberated greatly for man
yet has no thought of having done so.
The earth is without mind.
The earth is without attachments.
The earth is without reason.
The earth simply is
but does what it needs to do.
The earth is Heaven and Heaven is the earth,
yet man does not know this.
