Katy Perry’s last album features another hopeful song, “Roar,” which follows the successful release of her song titled “Firework.” It has been very successful on the Billboard Chart. The song is extremely sophisticated and its lyrics touch our heart. In our life, many things happen unexpectedly. At such times, we fall into desperation. We berate and regret about ‘why I was really born’ and ‘why I am so worse off.’ Maybe, everyone in the world has felt desperation at least once in their lifetime. Everyone feels desperate and experiences hardships. The first verse of Roar’s lyrics has expressed such desperation effectively. If you read the lyrics, you feel as if it were your own story. This is the charm of Katy Perry’s songs.
The reason that things don’t work out is because of what we call mind, which doesn’t work out in reality because it is played out only in our mind. Every time it doesn’t work out, we are looking to be consoled and try to find more hope. However, there is a truly surprising fact. The mind that you have – the mind of desperation and frustration – is nothing more than a false mind. What it means by false mind is that it does not exist in the world. It is a shadow and an illusion. What is false disappears and can be eliminated when throwing away. The mind of pain and stress that you have is a false mind of illusions that disappear when you throw away. Now, the method of throwing it away has come out to the world and so, anyone can practice it. Then, what will happen when you throw away the illusionary mind of pain that you have? You can find your true self that has been hidden inside you. Just like the lyrics of the song, there is infinite potential, hope and happiness, and the true self of great freedom and liberation within you.
The sun always illuminates the world but when clouds appear they cover the sun, blocking the light. Likewise, the false mind of human is the cloud. If you throw away the cloud that is your mind, your true mind – your true self – that is the sun will always be illuminating. Then, your mind is always joyful and energetic. No matter what you do, you feel the great freedom as you do not have the mind of stress and pain.
The true self can be found when you throw away the false mind and the false self. Just like in math, there is subtraction. When we eat, we discharge what we do not need from our body. Likewise, our mind must be subtracted and discharged. So far, there has been no institution, school or teacher that teaches us the method of subtracting the mind.
However, you do not need to suffer with the mind that you have. The method has already come out to the world. Your life is precious and you still have many days to live. We were not born to suffer all throughout our life and die, were we? This life happens only once. Shouldn’t we really live joyfully and energetically? Find your true self within you. And yell out! Infinite freedom, joy and happiness are already in you. Feel them! There is just one condition for it. Don’t forget that it is only possible when you completely subtract your false self and false mind.

Life
Life is that which is alive and it is the existence of Truth where the living Soul and Spirit, the origin of the world, is alive. Life is an existence that is alive, yet no one knows what life is because man has never learned about life and also because there is no life within the mind of the self.
The mind of man resembles the mind of the world. The world is life itself, but man’s mind, which merely resembles the world, does not have life. In other words, man has taken pictures of everything in the world and stored those pictures within his mind. He lives within that mind which is a copy of the living world; therefore he does not know the origin of life. Only this life is the forever, never-changing living existence and all material things that are born in this world are an expression of this life. All these things are alive because this life that is the origin is alive. Coming from this life that is the origin, and returning to this life that is the origin, is the law of nature, is Truth.
When people speak of material things being “alive” or “dead”, they are speaking from within their human preconceptions, from the human mind. Only man is truly dead. Man is not alive because he is the illusions that have departed from the place of life and he is living in a world of his own mind, which does not exist. A camera takes pictures of the world and it produces something that resembles the world. Just as those pictures are not real, man moves, breathes, speaks and eats just as a person in a video does but none of it is real. Man talks about himself from within his own mind world, and his life’s fate is determined by the pre-programming that is his mind world. Thus he lives out his life according to the script of his video. What one sees in a video is another world, which does not exist in this world; human life is the same phenomenon.
Everything produced in the video has life only when it exists in the world. Likewise, man must exist in the world in order to have life. The origin of life is the great universe; the place before all material existence comes forth, the empty sky without material things, the Creator, the origin of the great universe. This existence itself is the origin of life, so true life is when man returns to this origin and changes his human mind to the mind of the world that is the origin, and is reborn in that world. Discard the mind that resembles the origin and become the origin; only then will there be life. It is the same principle as discarding the videotape, for everything in the videotape is an illusion, and when it has been discarded the world of reality exists and one’s self that is living becomes real. This meditation has the method for people to discard this videotape and to be born and live in the world.
