LOVE YOU FOREVER Written by Robert Munsch, Illustrated by Sheila McGraw

“I’ll love you forever,

I’ll like you for always,
as long as I’m living
my baby you’ll be.”

LOVE YOU FOREVER is a children’s book written by Robert Munsch.

It is a truly beautiful and touching book.

I really feel grateful for this book as it taught me that I had been always loved even in moments that I thought I was alone in my life and that I didn’t feel loved at all.

While watching this video clip, I thought about so many definitions about love that we say.

What is the true love?

I looked back on my life to see if I have ever had true love.

I have not. I was so ashamed of myself who always had calculative, conditional, self-centered love.

I always received everything and I thought I surely deserved it.

To my family, my friends, and to the world, too…

Even when I was crying, trapped in the thought that I was alone in the world on a crowded street,

There were warm eyes and a smile of a lady who passed me by.

And moreover, there was love from Mother Nature that has made everything exist in the world.

I would like to introduce a poem Love by Master Woo Myung.

I particularly liked this part.

Loving people live in a loving world,

so they treat each other with love.

And because the people of the world

treat each other with love,

the dark clouds of anger are lifted,

and they care for one another.

At the sight of the world

and all of its creations living on love,

I jump for joy;

no one in the world has been left behind.

The world has always been a place where

There is no distinction between ‘you’ and ‘me,’

and such a world is indeed a great place to live in.

If every one of us does not have self-centered love,

If we do not have such an unnecessary mind, I believe that such a world would come along soon.

Or maybe, people who have love absent of the mind are already living in this way.

Love

Love is endlessly peaceful.

Love is endlesslyunderstanding.

Love is something that only humans have.

Love is about giving what you have.

Love is about humans loving humans.

Love is about sharing goodness with others.

Love is about showing mercy to others.

Love is about giving everything to the people of the world; it is about giving what you have to others.

Love is about speaking for those who have no words.

Love is about making it possible for the deaf to hear.

Love is about being loyal to the ones you love.

Love is about giving the whole of your heart.

Love is about being of one mind even when you and another are not together.

Love is about showing a warm gesture even to those who are just passing by.

Love is about showing uncalculated kindness.

Love is about longing those you miss..

Love is about treating loved ones with love.

Love is to give to others if they are wanting.

Loving people live in a loving world,

so they treat each other with love.

And because the people of the world

treat each other with love,

the dark clouds of anger are lifted,

and they care for one another.

At the sight of the world

and all of its creations living on love,

I jump for joy;

no one in the world has been left behind.

The world has always been a place where

There is no distinction between ‘you’ and ‘me,’

and such a world is indeed a great place to live in.
